…people need to be educated on as early as possible, and that’s why I’m so passionate about it, because I don’t want people out there to make the same mistake that I did where they thought I’m allergic to sunscreen I’m just not going to wear it and then suffer from sunburns… So now I obviously know the difference and I know the benefits for mineral sunscreens and sunscreen in general, and it’s just something that I’ve become so passionate for And I love educating people. If you see me anywhere outside, there is a 100% chance that I will have either a tube of CōTZ on me or sample tubes that I like to give out to people...

Sun protection is crucial for maintaining healthy skin, and choosing the right sunscreen can make all the difference. The chance of being diagnosed with skin cancer and melanoma is alarming and it can be prevented by making smart choices when it comes to sun protection.

It’s important to understand the differences between mineral and chemical sunscreens. So read the labels and learn more about the products you use. CōTZ believes that everyone deserves access to high-quality, enjoyable-to-use sun care products that provide optimal protection.

Healthy Sunscreen Habits ☀️

1. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen

When selecting a sunscreen, make sure it is labeled as broad-spectrum, which means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays can cause premature aging and skin damage, while UVB rays can cause sunburn and skin cancer.

2. Read the label and reapply

Sunscreen wears off over time, especially if you are sweating or swimming. Reapply sunscreen every two hours to ensure continued protection.

3. Use enough sunscreen

Most people do not use enough sunscreen, which can lead to inadequate protection. Use at least one ounce (about a shot glass full) of sunscreen for your entire body.

4. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to your face and neck

The face and neck are often neglected when it comes to sunscreen application, but they are just as susceptible to sun damage as the rest of the body. Make sure to apply sunscreen to your face and neck, and consider using a separate facial sunscreen for added protection.

5. Seek shade during peak sun hours

The sun’s rays are strongest between 10am and 4pm, so seek shade during these peak hours to reduce your risk of sun damage. If you must be outside, try to stay in the shade as much as possible.
