Lena’s journey with diabetes taught her resilience and inner strength in her own life. She shares with you how to improve your confidence and achieve success. Through her dynamic and engaging programs, Lena focuses on expanding self-awareness and encouraging you to make better decisions.

…Then it allows you to understand that you have a choice. No matter what circumstance you’re in, no matter how awful it is, no matter how much of it is due to things outside of your control, you always have a choice in every situation. So once you can get yourself to that point where you are embracing that, okay, I do have a choice, then you move on to the next stitch, which is acceptance. Kind of how we started our conversation today, right? It’s about understanding all of the things, drawing your energy that you don’t have control over, and letting those things go, and then focusing your energy on what you can control, and that is accepting responsibility for your thoughts and your actions as you move forward...

Self-awareness and the power of choice are crucial tools in thriving through challenges and circumstances. This conversation highlights the importance of recognizing the things we can control and letting go of things outside of our control. Through Lena’s “Stitch It Up” program, you can build mental resilience by recognizing and processing your emotions and practicing the four mental stitches: awareness, acceptance, attitude, and accountability.

By taking responsibility for your thoughts and actions, expanding your circle of control, and developing positive attitudes, you can cultivate the mental muscle needed to thrive in any situation. Whether it be through journaling, meditation, prayer, exercise, or speaking with a trusted person or therapist, there is a practice that can work for anyone. Understanding the power of self-awareness and choice can empower you to make positive choices in your life and overcome any obstacle in your path.

The Four Mental Stitches: Building Mental Resilience

Mental resilience is one of the most sought-after attributes in today’s world of uncertainty and turbulence. The ability to maintain a positive attitude and stay mentally strong can help you navigate challenging situations with ease. To build mental resilience, Lena discusses the concept of the four mental stitches. These stitches, awareness, acceptance, attitude, and accountability, are aimed at helping you take control of your thoughts and emotions and thrive through any challenge.

The first stitch, awareness, involves understanding why you are feeling a certain way and acknowledging the things in your history that have caused it. The second stitch, acceptance, involves accepting responsibility for your thoughts and actions. The third stitch, attitude, emphasizes the importance of acknowledging emotions but choosing empowering thoughts to change the way a situation is perceived. The final stitch, accountability, involves committing to daily habits that help in building the mental muscle.

Incorporating these four mental stitches can be a powerful way to build mental resilience. It is essential to recognize and process emotions effectively, take ownership of one’s thoughts and actions, expand the circle of control, and develop a positive attitude. By doing so, you can cultivate power in their life and learn doable strategies for accepting things outside of their control. With practice, the four mental stitches can help you grow stronger mentally and thrive through all challenges and circumstances.
