Destination Optimism: Keeping Positive with Chronic Illness

Leann Stickel-

Optimism. This single world can be your ticket to having a totally different life.

We need to remember to not be limited by our circumstances. We have the opportunity to make changes in how we live mentally and physically. To improve our quality of life. Leann Stickel joins me in this episode to talk about finding positivity in the dark times. Afterall, her  superpower is being “genetically optimistic”.

As a mom of 4, a wife and life coach she knows how life can challenge you. But this superpower really became her focus when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 29.

“Yes, let’s talk positivity! We know that we need to be positive. We know that we need to move forward. We need to see the good. We need to be a good boss of our self, our self talk, our perspective. The list goes on and on. That doesn’t mean that we have our head in the sand and ignore the hard or the crummy. So, there just has to be so much respect given to those feelings and just because you feel sad or upset or bummed doesn’t mean you’re not a positive person.”

Being a fighter has honed her life skills. She believes finding the positive in negative situations is a skill that can be learned, practiced, and perfected. Her mission is to teach her time tested tools to as many people as possible, so that they can experience the magic of positivity too! Mindset can be the determining factor in how your story plays out. Take back control of your life and find your joy.

Leann is going to share with us how today.

What can we practice that can help us to fully live again?

She shared how to build skills of positivity.

  • You have to bring your own joy.
  • Practicing gratitude
  • Shift your perspective
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Have a supportive team around you
  • And last, find your frosting!
